FYI
Welcome to the 2013 Potato Update!!!
We would like to welcome everyone to the 2013 OSU-HAREC
Potato Update. Our outlet for information on potato pest issues
from Extension. We will continue striving to ensure that we provide
our clients with the most objective, science-based information
possible.
If you have followed the Potato Update in years past, we welcome
you back for another season. You can find the Potato update online
throughout the growing season at
http://oregonstate.edu/dept/hermiston/trap-reports. Our reports
will go out Friday afternoon or Monday morning.
Just a reminder, the Rondon Entomology lab will be offering a
workshop on Zebra chip (ZC) and potato psyllid identification this
spring. The workshop will be designed to help those in potato
production prepare for or review psyllid monitoring techniques and
potato psyllid identification. The workshop will have plenty of
opportunities for hands-on identification and demonstrations, and
will be offered on two different dates. Registration is required
(Max 12 per session. Cost: $30/person). Please respond to this
email with your desired time slot to register. Only a few spots left!
The workshops are currently scheduled for:
May 15, 1 – 3:00 p.m.
May 24, 9 – 12:00 p.m.
LATE BLIGHT HOTLINE 1-800-705-3377
The OSU Area-wide monitoring program support is
provided by the Oregon Potato Commission and
OSU Extension Service. This is an alert system;
growers are encouraged to install their own traps
for field specific monitoring.
Agriculture, Family and Community Development, 4-H Youth, Forestry, Energy, and Extension Sea Grant Programs. Oregon State University, United States
Department of Agriculture, and Umatilla County cooperating. The Extension Service offers its programs and materials equally to all people.
