First-Year applicants:
Early Action (EA) and Regular Decision (RD) are nonbinding application processes. You are allowed to
apply to as many schools as you would like under Early Action and Regular Decision. Should you be
admitted to DU as an EA or RD applicant, you will have until May 1st to choose your school and submit a
deposit.
If you are 100% sure you would like to attend the University of Denver, apply Early Decision (ED I or
II). This is a binding contract you are entering into with the University. You are only allowed to apply
Early Decision to one college/university. If you are accepted to DU as an Early Decision applicant, you
will be expected to withdraw your applications to all other colleges or universities and commit to joining
our incoming first-year class.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF APPLYING ED I or ED II?
You’ll not only be committing to DU – we’ll be committing to you as well. ED I and ED II applicants will
receive their merit scholarships information soon after they receive notification of their acceptance. If
accepted, you won’t have to worry about submitting endless applications or waiting on acceptance letters you’ll know DU is where you are going to spend your next four years.
Transfer applicants: To apply for Fall Quarter (September) 2017 admission consideration, the application
and completion deadline is July 1st, 2017. We recommend you apply as soon as possible, however.
**The University of Denver accepts either the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS
(International English Language Testing System) as proof of English proficiency. Typically, students whose
native language is not English must either present an acceptable test score (at least one month prior to
enrollment) or successfully complete the requirements of English Conditional Admission (“ECA”) before
they are permitted to enroll in University classes.
TOEFL: Undergraduate students seeking Regular (non-English Conditional) Admission must
present a minimum TOEFL score of 80 (iBT) with no less than 20 in each subscore. Acceptable test
scores must be submitted at least one month prior to enrollment.
IELTS: Undergraduate students seeking Regular (non-English Conditional) Admission must present
a minimum of 6.5 on the IELTS, with no less than 6.0 on each individual band score. Acceptable
test scores must be submitted at least one month prior to enrollment.
