Sample Curriculum Artist Diploma in Performance 27 minimum credit hours Courses Seminar in Musical Interpretation Applied Lessons Ensembles/Chamber Music Electives Credit Hours 9 12* 6** Optional*** Other Requirements - Candidates must perform three (3) juried, full-length solo recitals. - Candidates must participate in ensemble/chamber music activities as determined by the specific department of enrollment. - Candidates must participate in the Lamont Honors Competitions (concerto and chamber music) at least once during enrollment in the program. - Candidates must attend the three (3) scheduled all-school convocations during each quarter of study. Note: Those candidates admitted to the Artist Diploma program who have not previously entered international competitions are strongly encouraged to do so in at least one such competition while attending the Lamont School of Music. Lamont will make every effort to help candidates find sources of funding to provide the necessary support for these ventures. *Candidates will enroll for 2 credit hours per quarter for each quarter of study **These are minimum hours required. Candidates will enroll for at least one (1) credit hour per quarter for each quarter of study and participate in at least two (2) ensembles per quarter of study. ***Candidates may enroll in music or academic electives of their choosing with previous approval from the Artist Diploma Program Director. International Students In order to qualify for an F-1 or J-1 visa, students must enroll in at least eight (8) credit hours per quarter, with the exception of their final quarter at DU. As an Artist Diploma candidate, you may be required to register for credit hours and coursework additional to the minimum requirements of your program in order to fulfill the 8credit requirement.
