Windows 6.2.1 SP3 Patch Installation
This chapter describes the automated process (sometimes called the mini-installer) to install the TES
6.2.1 SP3 patch to update the TES Master and Client Manager on Windows. This patch process explains
how to back up existing files and run the script to perform the patch. ADMIN access is required to
perform the patch update.
To perform this patch manually instead of using the scripts in this chapter, see Manually Patching TES
6.2.1 SP3.
The TES Java Client Web interface is updated as part of the TES Master patch process described below.
To learn how to update the standalone TES Java Client, see Patching the Standalone TES Java Client
Application, page 1-10
Note
For complete installation and configuration instructions for all TES components, please see the TES
Installation Guide.
Requirements
JRE 1.7.0_55 (update 55) and above is mandatory for TES 6.2.1 SP3.
Java 8 Upgrade Requirements
As of TES 6.2.1 SP3, Java 8 is supported for these components:
•
Master
•
Client Manager
•
Fault Monitor
•
Agents
•
Transporter
Customers upgrading from Java 7 to Java 8 must update the JAVA_HOME parameter in the following
files:
•
On the Master, update the master.props file in the Master/Config folder. Restart the Master.
•
On the Client Manager, update the clientmgr.props file in the Client Manager/Config folder. Restart
the Client Manager.

Pre-Installation Steps
•
On the Agent, update the JAVA_HOME environment variable. Restart the Agent.
•
On the Transporter, update the transporter.props file in the Transporter/Config folder. Restart the
Transporter.
Customers must have Java 7 to run the TES Java Client if they run other TES Components on Java 8.
The lib path and bin path in tesclient.bat must point to Java 7.
Pre-Installation Steps
Follow the procedures below to prepare the Master and Client Manager for the patch installation on
Windows.
To prepare the Master before running the patch installer
Step 1
