The Lady Flames ended the game with an 11-0 run, but Devon Brown missed a layup at the buzzer and the Blue Hose claimed their first-ever victory over the Lady Flames. Emily Frazier led Liberty with a then career-high 16 points. • PC’s win over Liberty was part of the team’s most successful season at the Division I level. The Blue Hose went 19-12 overall and tied for second in the Big South standings at 14-4. They wrapped up their season by playing in the WBI. • Presbyterian College is known for its stout defense, as the Blue Hose currently rank No. 4 nationally for scoring defense. The Blue Hose are yielding just 53.1 ppg, and High Point’s 75 points on Thursday made the Panthers just the third team to reach the 60-point mark against PC all season. • Liberty has been held below 70 points in each of its last six meetings with PC. The Lady Flames’ last 70-point output against the Blue Hose came in a 73-27 home win on Jan. 16, 2010. • Despite Presbyterian College’s strong defense, the Blue Hose are off to a slow start in 2013-14. They own just one win over a Division I opponent (Jan. 4 vs. Radford) and have lost nine straight road games dating back to last season.
