Lynchburg, Va. - Vines Center - 2 p.m.
Today’s Game
Liberty (5-5, 1-0 Big South) will host Campbell (7-3, 2-0 Big South) in a battle between
two of the four remaining unbeaten teams in Big South play, Saturday afternoon. Tipoff for
the contest between the Lady Flames and Lady Camels is slated for 2 p.m. at the Vines
Center.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) The winner of Saturday’s game will own at least a share of the Big South lead. Campbell is the early conference leader at 2-0. Liberty is currently tied for second place with
Coastal Carolina and Winthrop at 1-0.
2) Liberty will look to continue its string of recent success against Campbell. The Lady
Flames are 5-0 versus the Lady Camels since Campbell rejoined the Big South prior to the
2011-12 season. Liberty has won those games by an average of 17 points each. Campbell
has not defeated the Lady Flames since Nov. 29, 1999, which was Carey Green’s third
game as Liberty’s head coach.
3) Campbell is just 1-3 away from home this year and will be playing only its second game
outside of North Carolina in 2013-14. Meanwhile, Liberty is only 2-2 at home but has won
back-to-back contests inside the Vines Center.
4) Saturday’s matinee will be Liberty’s 300th game inside the Vines Center. The Lady
Flames have played very well at the facilty, going 237-62 (.793) there since playing their
first Vines Center contest on Dec. 7, 1990.
5) Ashley Rininger will look to continue her stellar play for the Lady Flames. She was
named Big South Player of the Week on Monday, earning the award for the second time
this season. Rininger has posted seven double-doubles in 10 games this season.
