Changing Ecosystems of the Ichetucknee: The Headspring Reach Through Time Jim Stevenson Dina Liebowitz Jill Heinerth Jim Stevenson, Dina Liebowitz, Jill Heinerth Ichetucknee River. "Blue water" photo is the most pristine spring photo that I have. h h It was taken during the UF carrying capacity study by grad k d h d b d student Charlie Dutoit in 1978 between the headspring and the tube launch on the upper river. This was an exclusion area that was set up in 1977 to measure recovery after people were excluded from this part of the spring run. Note the diversity of SAV and the clear blue water. ‐ Jim Stevenson Headspring reach, between Headspring and North tube launch. Note sprigs of distant SAV, but dominant Lyngbya cover. October, 2010. – Dina Liebowitz Headspring reach, between Headspring and North tube launch, taken in 2007. Note abundant SAV growth, but apparent lesser diversity. ‐ Jill Heinerth February 6, 2011
