The following table shows the contributions of three-digit manufacturing industries to private nonfarm business multifactor productivity. The Domar weighting scheme applied is based on the relative importance of each industry to total private nonfarm business output. Note that NAICS 334, computers and electronic products, made up an ever increasing amount of the total contribution of manufacturing to multifactor productivity throughout the 1990s. The contribution of NAICS 334 has leveled off in recent years.
