The private sector reported a lower total recordable case rate than did State and local government. Local government had a rate of 7.0 cases per 100 full-time workers, the highest by far of all three categories of ownership in 2008. Local government had the highest rate for total recordable cases; (1) cases with days away from work; (2) cases with days away from work, job transfer, or restriction; and (3) other recordable cases. Private industry had a slightly higher rate for the cases with job transfer or restriction.
