In 2006, transportation and
material moving occupations had
the highest rate of injuries and
illnesses requiring days away
from work (DAFW) of all
occupation groups—301 per
10,000 full-time workers. They
also had the second-highest
number of these injuries and
illnesses. Construction and
extraction occupations had the
second-highest DAFW rate of
injuries and illnesses, more than
twice the average for all
occupations.
