Carpal tunnel syndrome and fractures had the highest median numbers of days away from work. The medians for carpal tunnel syndrome, amputations, and fractures were lower in 2004 than in 2003. Tendonitis and chemical burns each had a longer median number of days away from work in 2004. Carpal tunnel syndrome and fractures, with medians of 28 days away from work, were the most severe natures of injury or illness among those presented in this chart. Each of the other most severe natures of injuries and illnesses remained the same between the 2 years.
