The number of injuries and illnesses resulting in days away from work declined by 4.3 percent in 2004. Cases requiring days away from work to recuperate fell by 6.3 percent in service-providing industries, but remained mostly the same in goods-producing industries. Injuries and illnesses with days away from work represented about 30 percent of all cases in both 2003 and 2004.
