Visit mcpsmd.edmodo.com select the “I’m a Teacher” button to create your free
account.
2. Use the blue school codes handout to type in your specific school’s code.

4. The next windows will ask you to upload a photo, create a URL, and join other
professional communities within Edmodo. To save us time, click next step and get to the
page that shows the button go to home page. Profile info can be filled in at any time.

Task 1:
Answer the poll question? How comfortable are you with
the Principles of Universal Design?
Task 2:
Read the 3 Principles of Universal Design. After reading,
start a new post (not a reply) to share at least one way you
incorporate the principles of Universal Design in your
instruction. The post should be between 3-5 sentences.
Task 3: Explore the features of Edmodo and be ready to
share something useful you learned.
Now, it’s time to Create Your Class:
1. Click + sign next to Groups and click Create.
2. Then type the Group Name………………like “Black Eyed Susan”
or “Reading with Redman” or “Mrs. Raleigh’s Class” or “Pd. 1
NSL.” You may want to add the school year as well like
“Black Eyed Susan 2013-2014.” Select Grade and Subject.

options and check moderate all
3. Complete all information in the create group windows (shown above) and click Create.
4. Now you will see your group code on the left side panel at the top. After you create an
post (note, assignment, etc.), give the group code to your students and have them click
Join next to Groups on the left side panel and type in your group’s code.
5. Now decide if you want students to respond to a quick post for everyone to see or to
start a new post or to complete an assignment and turn it in for your eyes only? Be
specific in your directions if you want them to start a new post, reply, or turn the
assignment in to you.
6. Under Notifications you can moderate posts and approve or deny student posts.
