The price index for chemical manufacturing exports fell over the 3 months ended in March. Export prices also declined for nonelectrical machinery manufacturing and computer and electronic product manufacturing. U.S. Export Price Indexes: Chemical Manufacturing The price index for export chemical manufacturing fell 0.4 percent from December to March. During the same period, overall export manufacturing prices rose 0.5 percent. During the 12 months ended in March, chemical manufacturing export prices increased 1.4 percent. Chemical manufacturing export prices rose over the 12 months ended in March amid increasing petroleum prices. Export prices for fertilizer manufacturing fell. Heavy duty truck manufacturing prices, a component of transportation equipment manufacturing, rose 5.6 percent over the 12-month period ended in March. U.S. Export Price Indexes: Nonelectrical Machinery Manufacturing The price index for nonelectrical machinery manufacturing exports fell 0.2 percent over the first quarter. Over the past 12 months, export prices for nonelectrical machinery manufacturing declined 0.4 percent. During the 12 months ended in March, industrial machinery manufacturing prices recorded the largest year-over-year decrease on record, falling 6.7 percent.
