Guidelines on Students’ Application for Transferring to Department of Public
Policy and Management at I-Shou University

Article 1
The Guidelines on Students’ Application for Transferring to Department of Public
Policy and Management at I-Shou University (hereinafter referred to as the
“Guidelines”) are stipulated by the Department of Public Policy and Management
(hereinafter referred to as the “Department”) pursuant to the Regulations for Students
Applying for Intra- and Inter-departmental Transfer at I-Shou University.
Article 2
An application for transferring to the Department mentioned in the Guidelines
includes transferring to the same or a lower grade level of the Department. The
criteria and requirements undermentioned apply to both types of application.
Article 3
Every undergraduate in their sophomore or junior year at the University may apply
for transferring to the Department.
Article 4
Applicants shall submit the following documents for paper-based review and oral
interview organized by the Department:
1.
an official transcript of all semesters;
2.
an autobiography and an explanation for applying for transferring to the
Department;
3.
certificate(s) awarded due to participation of extra-curriculum activities and/or
for distinguished achievements.
Article 5
Scoring percentage for items for review is as follows:
1.
An official transcript of all semesters: 20%
2.
An autobiography and an explanation for the transfer: 20%
3.
Performance in extra-curriculum activities: 20%
4. Oral interview: 40%
Article 6
The Chair of the Department shall establish the Review Committee on Application
for Transferring to the Department (hereinafter referred to as the “Committee”),
which consists of faculty members from the Department to be in charge of reviewing
applications. The review result(s) made by the Review Committee shall be submitted
to the Departmental Affairs Council for discussion and approval.
Article 7
Any issues not mentioned herein shall be subject to the Regulations for Students

Applying for Intra- and Inter-departmental Transfer at I-Shou University and other
relevant rules and regulations of the University.
Article 8
The Guidelines become effective after the adoption by the Departmental Affairs
Council, ratified and filed by the University. The same procedure applies to any
amendment to the Guidelines.
Note: In the event of any disputes or misunderstanding as to the interpretation of the language or
terms of the Guidelines, the Chinese language version shall prevail.
