Regulations for Internship for Master’s Students at Department of
Public Policy & Management of I-Shou University

Article 1 Basis
In order to strengthen students’ integration ability on theory and , “Regulations for
Internship for Master Programs of the Department of Public Policy and Management
of I-Shou University” of o
department applies.
Article 2 Objectives of Internship
1. To understand the promotion and implementation of public policy.
2. To experience the practice operation and management.

To cultivate students to adaptation to work environment.
To offer the interaction with both theory and practice to enhance the teaching
level and the quality of the students is also improving.
Article 3 Organizations of Internship
Students would be arranged to undertake an internship program in various government
agencies or non-profit organizations.
Article 4 Essentials of Internship
1. Duration and Subjects
Graduate students have to negotiate an appropriate internship unit by
themselves before the end of the first semester in year 2 of the master program.

Credits will only be given after the total practicum hours reach 160 hours
within 4 weeks. The internship unit shall be chosen by the teachers and student.
Consulting
Teachers shall assist graduate students for masters program to overcome any
difficulties and problems. During the internship, graduate students must keep
contact with teachers to make sure the effect of internship.
Directions
Internship shall mainly focus on the analysis and learning of problems on the
public affairs management of the internship organization. The internship shall
be performed at the said organization.
Internship report
After the internship, students have to submit a internship certificate and the
written internship report.
Management
During the internship, students shall obey the rules for employee management
of the said organization. Those who disobey and persistently refuse to comply
with the advice would be notified to our department to depose.
Welfare
Welfare such as internship expense, welfare measures, labor terms, and so on,

shall be handled under the regulations of the internship organization.
Score Assessment
Internship score assessment shall be calculated after assessed by the unit
supervisor and teachers respectively, the internship organization accounts for
50% of the internship score while the class teacher accounts for 50%.
8. Important Information
During the internship, students shall maintain the good image of the department
and shall not damage the fame of the department. Student shall report to teacher
or the Department Chair at any time in case of crucial problems and matters.
Article 5 Promulgation and Amendment
The Guidelines shall come into effect after being agreed by the Department Affairs
Council.
Amendments must also undergo the same procedure.
