Business honor society pulls overnighter to fight
cancer
body>
Members of Athens Technical College’s business honor society
chapter raised more than $400 for the American Cancer Society’s annual
Relay for Life fundraiser held May 11 and 12 at the YMCA in Athens.
The Chi Zeta chapter of Alpha Beta Gamma, the national business
honor society, joined hundreds of other participants in the overnight
event which raises awareness and funds for the battle against cancer.
The Relay for Life centers on a track around which participants walk
throughout the night in memory of or in honor of those affected by
cancer. The Relay features games, food, music and more for teams who
also create different ways to raise money during the event.
Athens Technical College Alpha Beta Gamma members sold
popcorn, cold drinks and baked items. They also collected individual
donations prior to the Relay. Several members stayed up all night, from
4 p.m. Friday till 7 a.m. Saturday.
