Radiography instructor Jill Drerup grabbed a piece of chalk, knelt over the pavers and carefully marked the brick she had chosen. Drerup was one of several people who designated pavers as their donor bricks on the day of the ice cream social. Donor brick pavers have been placed in the plaza at the Life Sciences building on the Athens Campus as well as outside the Coggins Building on the Elbert County Campus, and those donors who contribute $100 per brick to the Athens Tech Foundation can have a name or message engraved on the bricks for which they donated. In the Life Sciences plaza there are three arrays of bricks along the sidewalk. Since the donor brick campaign started in 2009, there have been two sets of engraved bricks installed at each campus. The most recent installation of bricks was May 16. The Foundation is continuing to take orders for bricks and plans to place another engraved batch this winter. The Foundation has made it easy for Athens Technical College employees to pay for the donor bricks via payroll deduction if their forms are returned to the Foundation office by Monday, June 11. https://www.athenstech.edu/Intranet/Management/spotlight/edit2.cfm?ID=370 6/18/2012 Management Tools - Edit Spotlight Page 2 of 2 Forms are available in the Athens Tech Foundation Office in Building F or online at http://www.athenstech.edu/Foundation/documents/ATF_Donor_Brick_Form.pdf For more information, contact Sherry Abrams in the Athens Tech Foundation office (706) 425-3046 or [email protected]).
