Copelan, Harris new full-time faculty members
Athens Technical College’s Technical and Industrial Division recently named Craig Copelan and Kenneth Harris as two new full-time faculty
members in the division, according to Susan Larson, dean of the division.

Automotive technician Craig Copelan, joined the faculty as a full-time day instructor in the college’s automotive technology program on the Athens
Mr. Copelan, an ASE Certified Master Automobile Technician, began work at the college on May 16. Prior to that, he served as an adjunct
instructor for three and a half years at Central Georgia Technical College’s Milledgeville Campus in the institution’s automotive technology program, and he
also worked at C&R Transmissions in Milledgeville.
He has worked in the automotive repair field for 10 years, and he earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree from Georgia College and
State University in Milledgeville.
Engineer Kenneth Harris has moved from an adjunct position with Athens Technical College’s Walton County Campus to a full-time instructor on
the Athens Campus.
Mr. Harris, who previously taught HVACR in the Air Conditioning program in Monroe, is now instructor for the Electrical Construction and
Maintenance program on the college’s main campus.
Born in Little Rock, Arkansas and raised in Keo, Arkansas, Mr. Harris graduated from the Missouri Institute of Technology with a bachelor of
science degree in electronics engineering technology.
He worked as an engineer with AT&T for 17 years, with Lucent Technologies for eight years and has run his own appliance repair and refrigeration
business, K&K Services in Monroe, for 10 years.
