Literacy Council awards GED grad with scholarship
The Athens-Clarke Literacy Council presented Amy Michelle Harper with a $500 scholarship to help her with her post-secondary
education in the Criminal Justice Technology program at Athens Technical College. Ms. Harper, who recently completed her
GED, received the scholarship during Athens Technical College’s GED graduation ceremony, May 3. Harper intends to enroll in
Athens Technical College for fall semester, 2012. “We were pleased to recognize Ms. Harper’s achievement of obtaining her GED
and continuing to post-secondary education in spite of difficult circumstances,” said ACLC Executive Director Mandy Seigler.
