Elbert County Campus students earn scholarships
Outstanding academic work by two Athens Technical College students living in Elbert County and attending the college’s
Elbert County Campus earned them each a $1,000 scholarship from the Elbert Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Page Alix, who is studying for her associate degree in nursing, won one of three $1,000 scholarships awarded through the
Elbert Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Endowment. The EMH Auxiliary Endowment scholarships are awarded to Elbert County
students pursuing a health related educational program in an accredited college, university or health related technical school.
Medical Assisting program student Renee Oviedo captured the $1,000 Burrell Endowment Scholarship from the Elbert
Memorial Hospital Foundation. Oviedo, who earned an associate degree in early childhood care and education at the college in
2007, expects to receive her Medical Assisting program diploma after fall semester. The Burrell scholarship was presented by the
scholarship committee comprising Lenette O. Burrell, Lynne Munumer and Janet Wiley.
