College names Lesley Bowick director of Walton County Campus
Certified public accountant Lesley Bowick, a former accounting instructor, has taken the helm of Athens Technical College’s Walton
County Campus, according to an announcement from the college’s Vice President for Economic Development Services Jerry Barrow, whose
responsibilities include the Walton County campus.
A Monroe native, Ms. Bowick began her duties of director of the Walton County Campus January 7, Mr. Barrow said. , Bowick, who
previously taught accounting at Georgia Piedmont Technical College’s Covington Campus since 2005, takes over the Walton County position
vacated by Jimmy Hogg, who retired late last year.
“Working from a satellite campus for GPTC, Ms. Bowick is familiar with the issues facing faculty and students in this environment and has
experience in recruiting, advising and other student services,” Mr. Barrow said.
Walton County and the college’s campus in Monroe offer a lot of potential, Ms. Bowick said.
“The Walton County Campus has excellent growth opportunity,” Ms. Bowick said. “As a Monroe native, I am very excited to be a part of the
Athens Technical College team and look forward to working with the college administration along with local businesses and school systems to
increase enrollment in existing programs and bring new programs to the campus.”
Ms. Bowick earned bachelor of business administration degrees in accounting and in finance from Mercer University, and a master’s of
accountancy degree from Auburn and is also a certified public accountant. She is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants
and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
