Bank of America grant benefits Adult Education program
The Bank of America Charitable Foundation recently awarded the Athens Tech Foundation $4,000 to be used by the Adult Education program at Athens
Technical College for the purchase of five new computers to administer GED examinations to students at the Adult Education center in Athens.
Merrill Lynch Athens Resident Director Gary Hudson, representing Bank of America, met with Athens Technical College officials Thursday, June 27, to
present the check.
The Athens Tech Foundation, the development arm of Athens Technical College, asked for funding from Bank of America to support Athens Technical
College's Adult Education program, specifically the program's GED testing resources. At the end of 2013, the state Technical College System of Georgia is
switching entirely to a system of computerized testing. Athens Technical College primarily uses pencil and paper testing now, and must purchase specialized
computers needed to administer the computerized GED test.
