Pre-registration is required for the event. The job fair is targeted to people interested in a career in the manufacturing industry, and the event will focus on the fabrication and assembly positions at the new Caterpillar plant in the areas of quality, welding, machining, and more. In addition to discussing the employment potential at Caterpillar’s Athens plant, representatives will suggest courses at Athens Technical College that could help prepare individuals for future openings at Caterpillar and other local manufacturing businesses. Organizers have scheduled two job fair sessions — one at 11:30 a.m. and the other at 4 p.m. — and those who plan to attend must register in advance. Both sessions of the job fair will be held in the auditorium of the Easom Building on the Athens Campus of the college. Anyone who foresees a manufacturing career in his or her future should register now to attend the Bridging the Gap to Technology Job Fair at 11:30 a.m. or 4 p.m. Thursday, September 26, at Athens Technical College.
