CAT to share job info at upcoming sessions on ATC campus
Caterpillar’s recent Bridging the Gap to Industry Information sessions held on the Athens Technical College
Athens Campus were so popular that the company has planned additional events.
Athens Technical College will host two more of Caterpillar’s Bridging the Gap to Industry Information Sessions
on upcoming Fridays — November 1 and November 8. These information sessions are targeted to people who are
interested in a career in the manufacturing industry, and the information will cover the fabrication and assembly
positions at the new Caterpillar plant in Athens. The sessions will take place in the auditorium of the Easom Building
on the Athens Campus, 800 U.S. Highway 29 North.
Caterpillar representatives who will give the presentations will focus on the plant’s assembly-related jobs on
November 1, and they will concentrate on fabrication during the November 8 event. The fabrication process will
require a variety of jobs including welders, machinists, team leaders, section managers, and manufacturing
engineers,
The November 1 and November 8 Bridging the Gap Information Sessions each will feature a morning and an
afternoon program from which those registering can choose. The morning programs will begin at 10 a.m., and the
afternoon programs will begin at 2 p.m.
In addition to discussing opportunities at Caterpillar's Athens plant, representatives will suggest courses at
Athens Technical College that could help prepare individuals for future openings at Caterpillar and other local
manufacturing businesses.
Anyone interested in a manufacturing career and finding out about job possibilities at Caterpillar, must register
online to attend the Bridging the Gap to Industry Information Sessions. Space will be limited.
