Yancey Brothers donation pumps up diesel program
RepresentativesfromYanceyBrothers,thenation’soldestCaterpillardealerandGeorgia’ssoleauthorizeddealerfornewCaterpillar
equipment,recentlyvisitedtheElbertCountyCampusofAthensTechnicalCollegeandpresentedacheckintheamountof$3,500tobenefit
oftheDieselEquipmentTechnologyProgram.
YanceyBrothersenteredintoacollaborativerelationshipwithAthensTechnicalCollegein2012topromoteworkforcedevelopment.
Now,inadditiontoarrangingcontributionsfromtheCharmandGoodloeYanceyFoundation,YanceyBrothersdonatesequipmenttobe
usedfortraining,providescollegefacultymemberswithcontinuingeducationonCaterpillarequipment,andservesontheadvisory
committeefortheDieselEquipmentTechnologyprogram.YanceyBrothersalsoprovidesqualifiedAthensTechnicalCollegeDiesel
EquipmentTechnologygraduateswithemploymentopportunitiesthatcanleadtoalucrativeandrewardingcareerwiththecompany.
TheAthensTechnicalCollegeDieselEquipmentTechnologyprogramgottheattentionofYanceyBrothersofficialsin2012when
companyrepresentativesvisitedtheElbertCountyCampuswherethedieselprogramishousedandtaught.
“IwasveryimpressedwhenIfirstsawthefacilitiesandmettheinstructors,andIcontinuetobeimpressed!”saidJamesLarson,
corporatetrainingmanagerforYanceyBrothers.“Welookforwardtocontinuingourrelationshipwiththecollegeandtoemployingmany
graduatesoftheprogram.”
Dr.FloraW.Tydings,presidentofAthensTechnicalCollege,hadsimilarpraisefortheprogramandthepartnership.
“TheDieselEquipmentTechnologyProgramdoesanoutstandingjobofpreparingmenandwomenforsuccessfulcareersinthebusiness
world,”shesaid.“YanceyBrothersisanimportantandhighlyvaluedpartnerintheprogram’ssuccess.Inadditiontosupportingthe
programinsomanydifferentways,YanceyBrothersofferssomeofthebestemploymentopportunitiesinthebusiness.”
