5­8p.m.,Wednesday,April30,attheStudentCenter.

semesterthisyear.
Modelfurniture,drawings,roomdesigns,and
otherexamplesoftheirworkwillbeincludedinthe
presentationsthatrepresentthestudents’studiesin

TheAthensTechnicalCollegeInteriorDesign
studentsarecomingoffarecentwinincompetitionat
theAthensHome&GardenShow. Theweekendof
February22­23,thestudentshandilyout­designed
UniversityofGeorgiaInteriorDesignstudentsinthe
WhiteRoom,aprojectthatinvolvedtransforminga
12’x14’spaceintoanicelyappointedroomforthe
home.Studentshada“virtual”budgetof$1,500to
shopatthetwoareaAthensHabitatforHumanity
Restorelocationsforfurnitureandaccessoriesand
thenadaptthepiecesfortheirdesign.
PhillipC.Myer,programchairforInteriorDesign
atAthensTechnicalCollege,saidtheupcoming
showcaseatthecollegeprovidesanopportunityfor
hisstudentstodemonstratethescopeoftheirtraining
intheprogram.
“WeareexcitedtohostoursecondannualInterior
DesignStudentShowcase,”Myersaid.“Thisexhibit
allowstheInteriorDesignprogramatAthens
TechnicalCollegetocelebratetheachievementsofour
students.”
Myersaidthestudentsandprogramfaculty
membersarelookingforwardtohostingindustry
professionals,collegestaffmembers,students’friends
andfamilymembersalongwiththegeneralpublic
duringtheopeningreceptionandexhibitiondates.
Theexhibitionwillbeopentothepublicfrom9
a.m.to4p.m.,Thursday,Friday,MondayandTuesday,
May1,2,5,and6.
