Lu-Owl combines Original Drifters with UGA athletic venue for festive fundraiser

OriginalDriftersFridaynight,May2ontheindoorpracticefieldatButts­MehreHeritageHallduringthesecondannualLu­OWLtosupport
theAthensTechFoundation.
ProceedsfromtheLu­OWLbenefitAthensTechnicalCollegestudentsbyprovidingscholarshipsandfinancialsupportforresourcesthat
helpeducateandpreparethemfortheworkforce.
“It’saninvestmentinthestudents’futuresandthefutureofthecommunity,”saidLizDalton,directorofDevelopmentandPublic
Relationsatthecollege.“ItwillnotonlybeafunHawaiian­themednightwithgreatentertainment,food,andactivities,butavery
worthwhileevent.”
TheHawaiianthemeaswellasthemusicbytheOriginalDrifterswillprovideanopportunityforattendeestorelaxandenjoytheevent
whileknowingatthesametimetheyaresupportingAthensTechnicalCollegestudents,Daltonadded.
“Noblacktie,nosilentauction—justflipflopsandacasualatmosphereforacause,”Daltonsaid.
Ticketsare$60perperson.Thoseattendingwillbeabletopartakeofdinner,theconcert,anddancing.Thefestivitieswilltakeplacein
UGA’sC.V.NalleyMultipurposeRoom/UGAIndoorPracticeField.ThatspaceintheButts­MehreHeritageHallincludesa 20­yardby60­yard
indoorturf­fieldareawith30­foot­tallceilingsthatisalsocapableofhostingmeetingswithupto500guests.
