General Housekeeping
Too often state fire inspectors find rooms and offices filled to capacity with
an array of paper,
books, boxes, and
magazines
along
with a myriad of
other combustible
materials.
To the owner every
document
is
important - to a
fire every document is fuel - fuel
to feed upon, fuel
to grow from, fuel
to burn!
Citations are issued in instances
were the inspector
determines that the fuel loading is creating a
fire hazard - and those persons responsible
will be expected to clean up after themselves.
Remember, fire doesn’t discriminate between
faculty, staff or student. It happily feeds on
everyone’s stuff.
§F315.2 Storage in buildings. Storage of combustible materials in
buildings shall be orderly.
