Today’s Game
Liberty (10-6, 6-1 Big South) will square off with Big South co-leader Winthrop (12-4, 6-1
Big South) on Thursday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Winthrop Coliseum for a
game that will determine the outright leader in the conference standings.
The “Starting Five” - Today’s Top Storylines
1) Liberty (first) and Winthrop (second) were the top two teams in the Big South preseason
poll, and both teams have delivered so far in 2013-14. The Lady Flames and Eagles currently share the Big South lead at 6-1. All other Big South squads have already lost three
or more conference games.
2) A number of streaks will be on the line on Thursday. Liberty has won four straight games
overall and back-to-back road contests. Winthrop is on a three-game winning streak and
is a perfect 6-0 at the Winthrop Coliseum this season.
3) Liberty’s Ashley Rininger has equaled her career-long streak with four straight doubledoubles, averaging 20.0 ppg and 10.8 rpg during the span. She enters Thursday’s game
eight points shy of 500 for her career.
4) Liberty will try to limit Winthrop senior point guard Dequesha McClanahan, the reigning
Big South Player of the Year. She averaged 26.0 ppg against the Lady Flames in 2012-13
and sits just 29 points away from 2,000 for her career.
5) Player availability will be something to watch on Thursday. Liberty played without both
Simone Brown and Sadalia Ellis during its most recent game. Meanwhile, Winthrop’s
Schaquilla Nunn returned from injury to play 15 minutes at Coastal Carolina on Monday
and sophomore Aliyah Kilpatrick could make her 2013-14 season debut Thursday.

A Look Back at Liberty’s 59-51 Win Over Presbyterian College
• Presbyterian College cut a 16-point second-half deficit to four, but Liberty held on for a
59-51 victory, Saturday evening inside the Vines Center.
• Emily Frazier (4-4) and Katelyn Adams (2-2) combined to make all six of their free throw
