ISU BBS management regulations
1. Clauses of recognition and acceptance
The following clauses concerning ISU BBS (hereafter the system) are
made based on the management and usage regulations established
by the TANet Committee to provide this BBS and other relevant
services (hereafter the services). When you register as the user of the
system and begin to use the services, it means you have already read,
understood, and accepted all the contents of this contract.
The system retains the right to modify or change the content of this
contract at any time, and any modification or change will be
immediately posted on the SYSOP board (no individual notification
should be sent). If you continue to use the services after any change
or modification, it means you have already read, understood, and
accepted all the modifications or changes. If you do not agree to the
content of this contract, you should stop using any services provided
by the system.
2. Obligation for registration
In order to use the services, you must agree to the following:
(a) Provide the correct, most current and complete personal
information according to the instructions of the services registration
form.
(b) Maintain and update your personal information to ensure that it is
correct, up-to-date, and complete. If the provided information is
wrong or untrue, the system retains the right to suspend or terminate
that account’s service usage.
3. Privacy:
(a) In following the above regulations, the system should collect your
personal information and record your Internet IP Address for every
log in.
(b) The system will not sell or lend your personal information to
anyone.
(c) The system will not disclose your information except in the
following situations:
i. Following the relevant laws.
ii. Required by the Judicial or other authoritative agencies through
legal requirement.
iii. To protect the safety of the user or other person’s safety under
an emergency situation.
4. User name, password, and security.
After registration, you will obtain the name and password. It is your
responsibility to secure your password and account; you will take full
responsibility for all actions done by that user name and password.
5. Compliance and commitment of user
You agree not to use the services for any illegal purpose or through
any illegal method, and you agree to obey the relevant laws of the
Republic of China and all the international practices for Internet
(Users outside of the R.O.C should follow the laws of the country in
which they are located). You agree not to use the services for
infringement of other people’s rights or illegal behaviors, including but
not limited to the following:
(a) Offenses against personal reputation or privacy.
(b) Posting any slandering, insulting, threatening, hostile, obscene, or
untrue messages, violating public and good order, or illegal messages.
(c) Violating confidentiality accorded by law or contract.
(d) Using the services with other people’s name. (e) Illegal acts or
trades.
(f) Sending advertising mails or posting advertisement.
(g) Other inappropriate acts as considered with just reasons by the
system.
6. Declaration of immunity for system breakdown or malfunction:
The system will maintain normal function and information security as
much as possible. The breakdown or malfunction of the services might
cause inconvenience for your usage, data loss, errors, changes or
other damages. You should protect your own information when using
the services. The system will not take responsibility for compensation
for the damages arising from using (or being unable to use) the
services.
7. User acts:
Any information publicly posted or privately transferred by the user
(hereafter user content) is the responsibility of that user. The system
is unable to control the user content provided by the user through the
services, thus the system does not guarantee the correctness,
completeness or quality of the content.
When using the services, you may encounter some uncomfortable,
impropriate, or detestable user content. Under any situation, the
system is not responsible for any user content, including but not
limited to any mistake, loss or damage caused by the user content.
The system does not examine user content in advance, but the
system has the right (not the obligation) to refuse or remove any user
content provided through the services based on its own concerns. The
system has the right to remove any user content violating the services
clauses and any detestable user content.
8. Refusing or terminating your usage:
You agree that the system, based on its own concerns and any reason
(including the system believing you have violated the regulations and
spirit of the service clauses), should terminate your user name and
account. The system can also terminate the services or any part of it
at any time based on its own concerns. In addition, you agree that
when the services are terminated, the system should not be
responsible for you or any third party.
9. Law applicable and jurisdiction court:
The interpretation and application of this contract and any dispute
related to this contract shall follow the process of the law of the
Republic of China. Both parties agree that Kaohsiung District Court is
the jurisdiction court for the first instance.
