The student association for Social Work Assistant Program majors at Athens Technical College! Join Us At The Gobbler Fun Run! Join ATC students on Saturday, November 16th at 9:30 am for the Gobbler Fun Run! This is a one mile walk/run around the campus. It begins outside of Building B and goes around the campus ending back at Building B where it began. Anyone is welcome to come and participate. There is a $10 fee to participate and you receive a Gobbler Fun Run t-shirt. ASWA will have a booth outside that will have refreshments including snacks and water. All ASWA and Social Work Assistant program students are encouraged to participate. Bring family (Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. ) and friends to join you. Anyone is welcome and there will be security on B-Building Parking Lot campus to ensure you safety. We are very excited about this event and look forward to seeing you there! The section of the ASWA newsletter provides a forum for our Social Work Assistant Program students to present their point of view on important issues of the day, their thoughts and opinions about the profession of social work and their chosen program of study, the Social Work Assistant Program at Athens Technical College. Upcoming Community Service This holiday season, ASWA officers and members are planning on making care packages for 8 airmen who will not be able to be home for the holidays. We would love for you to help out by donating items for these great men. We will be giving out more information about this coming up, so be looking for it. We could really use your help making the packages or if you would rather donate items then that would be awesome too! Come and show your love and support for these great American airmen! ASWA officers and members are also planning on taking a trip and volunteering our time to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank on December 14th. If you are interested in joining us, please contact us. December 14, ASWA members are volunteering at the NEGA Food Bank. Let us know if you want to come! Don’t forget about participating in making the military care packages by donating items or helping to put the packages together! Become a Member Today! Membership: Choose to be a member today! To be a member of the ASWA the following criteria must be met: Current enrollment in the Assistant Social Work program. Attend at least two ASWA meetings per semester. Participate in at least one ASWA project or activity each semester. Alumni members are invited to all meetings, programs, and activities, but may not vote. The ASWA does NOT discriminate based on to race, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, or class.
