Principals of Architecture and CAD Technology - Articulation Agreement

ARTICULATION AGREEMENT
College Tech Prep Program
Montgomery County Public Schools Program: Construction and Development Cluster,
Principles of Architecture and CAD Technology
Montgomery College Programs: Architectural and Construction Technology, A.A.S.; CAD
for the Building Professional Certificate; Management of Construction Certificate
INTRODUCTION: In the past several years, technological advances have changed the processes and
equipment used in a growing number of technical fields. Today's workforce is confronted with diverse
and complex technical concepts and equipment and must have a broad understanding of the
comprehensive principles that govern the behavior of the systems and subsystems that make up the work
environment.
The College Tech Prep Program is a partnership between Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS)
and Montgomery College (MC). It is designed to provide a rigorous, relevant curriculum for students
who wish to explore or prepare for technical careers.
Administration, curriculum coordinators, and the respective faculties of both institutions have examined
course competencies and content taught at both institutions in Construction and Development Cluster,
Principles of Architecture and CAD Technology and Architectural and Construction Technology
and have agreed to develop, for the maximum benefit of students, an articulated program in Construction
Management to prepare students for degrees or certificates in the applicable programs listed in the chart
below.
CERTIFICATION: Students who wish to enter Montgomery College will present an official high school
transcript attached to a completed Articulation Agreement Credit Award Form verifying successful
completion of the articulated courses with a grade of B or better to: Montgomery College, Office of
Academic Initiatives, College Tech Prep Program, 51 Mannakee Street, Rockville, Maryland, 20850.
Students must also pass a departmental assessment exam for each articulated course. Students must
contact the MC Department of Applied Technologies to arrange for test date and time. To receive credit,
students must enroll at MC within two years of completion of an articulated program with MCPS. Credit
will be transferred upon admission into MC in an applicable program.
