Dear organizers, Thank you for submitting your project of research school to the CIMPA. The scientific committee has provided recommendations and suggestions concerning the research school you are requiring for 2010. Below you will find a synthesis of the comments as well as some reports. I would like to underline that the scientific committee is an autonomous organism, which makes its own remarks and questions, towards a better global work for the CIMPA. As you can read below, the global appreciation concerning your project is positive. Please consider to submit a new version of your project, taking in account the questions and recommendations, preferably before the end of this year. Let us know in case you need some more days. Many local speakers, also mainly local participants expected – should be made regional!
Advertized as part of larger scheme to develop applied math in Uruguay. Wide range of
diverse topics (only content for 4 speakers given), no theme or focus, little connections
between topics, but can be beneficial for an introduction or overview for students between
applied math and engineering; therefore careful coordination of lectures needed; specify
what prerequisites are requested from students. Is it supposed to be an introduction to
mathematical methods for engineering students? Need thorough revision. Condition that they
give a satisfactory answer to our questions about thematic coherence and how they recruit
participants from other countries than Uruguay.
