Palo Alto Veterans Administration Hospital, Palo Alto, California. My duties
consisted of ward administration, diagnostic testing and interviewing, and
individual and group psychotherapy, both short and long-term. My assignments
were with both acute and chronic patients on an open and closed ward (the
maximum security ward for acute and violent conditions). Over the year, I saw
more than 50 therapy cases, some lasting for a month and several for nine to ten
months. I received supervision on all aspects of my work from staff psychologists
and psychiatrists, from hospital consultants on a regular basis, and from regular
psychotherapy seminars. In addition, I obtained specific training in behavior
therapy, hypnosis, and group treatment. (Major supervisors: William A. Hall,
M.D., licensed psychiatrist; Gilwee Walker, Ph.D., licensed clinical psychologist;
Sheldon Korchin, Ph.D. licensed clinical psychologist & Professor & Director of
