Sam Bio 2015

I have been teaching for over 6 years. My favorite part of teaching is getting
to know my students and being able to motivate them to do their best.
I started my teaching career in Teach for America where I taught First grade
for two years in Southeast DC while getting my Masters in Curriculum and
Instruction from George Mason University. I have also previously taught in DCPS
as well as Montgomery County. Some of you may even remember me as Mrs.
Tu’s long term substitute 4 years ago! For the past two years, I taught at Wood
Acres ES in Bethesda, MD.
I grew up in Montgomery County and went to Wootton High School. I am big
into sports and played Varsity Soccer, Golf, and Basketball there. I went on to
play on the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team at the University of Rochester in
upstate NY. I have coached in the area for the past 7 years and I currently
coach for the Potomac Travel Club.
I am so happy to be at Stone Mill and look forward to a great year!
