Writer’s Workshop
During the month
of November the
students will continue to draw, dictate, and write in
order to narrate a
single event in their
lives. Students will
spell simple words
phonetically. Students will use their
knowledge about
beginning consonant
sounds to sound out
words. This will
help them to make
their work readable
to themselves and
to their audience of
adults and peers.
Math
During Quarter 2 we will build a strong foundation for numbers.
These concepts will be covered: counting, one to one correspondence, sets, equal/not equal sets. We will count starting
from different numbers.
We will continue to practice writing our numbers correctly.

Science and Social Studies
We have started our new Science unit. We are discussing seasons. We are going on walks and collecting
evidence of objects from our fall walks. We will also

things.
In Social Studies we will discuss maps and globes. We
will look at landforms. The students will identify
landforms such as mountains and hills and bodies of
water.
