Reading for
Literary Experience Foundational Skills
Comprehension is an
ongoing focus when
teaching reading.
We are reading fictional stories. Students are making
predictions about
the stories from
reading the title,
and making personal
connections to the
text as they read.
The students are
practicing retelling
the beginning, middle and end of the
story with details.
We are practicing all
of our 44 kindergarten words and some
are practicing first
grade words. It is
very important that
your child knows all
of their letters, letter sounds, and word
wall words.
If you need another
copy of the list then
let your child’s
teacher know.
