They will also begin drafting an original myth. Students will continue working on strategies to improve their writing by editing their work for proper capitalization, language use, punctuation, and spelling. Words their Way will continue to be our program for improving spelling and learning about spelling patterns. Social Studies: In Social Studies we will be examining movements of change in U.S. history. We will also continue to look at important turning points in U.S. history. We will examine the complex events that led to the abandonment of the Articles of Confederation and the eventual adoption of the United States Constitution. Science: In Science we will begin learning about elements of electricity. We will also continue to look at the engineering design process as part of our STEM focus.
