Fourth Grade November Newsletter Mrs. Aguiar, Ms. Kambies, Mrs. Novick Reading Writing Math Students will be reading and comparing plays and poetry. They will be analyzing structural elements of plays such as stage directions and dialogue. They will also be able to connect ideas within these different forms of texts to identify the theme and make inferences. Students will be writing character sketches to describe characters in a play based off of diagloge, stage direction, and the characters’ interaction with other characters. Students will also be writing poems based on personal experiecnes. They will integrate figurative language and effective word choice into the poems. Students will use array models to multiply 2, 3, and 4 digit numbers. They will use place value knowledge of hundreds, tens and ones to create partial products to multiply. Students will be able to explore and use formulas to calculate the area and perimeter of rectangles. Social Studies Science Dates: 11/2- No school Students will be learning about Maryland’s economic resources and how they are used to produce goods and services. They will learn how these resources create regional specializations and what happens when land and resources become scarce to consumers. Students will be analyzing and comparing habitats and ecosystems and discussing how organisms survive and reproduce differently depending on their environment.
