Reading
Writing
Math
Students will be reading
informational texts to identify
cause and effect relationships,
discuss main idea, paraphrase
important information, and
determine meaning of content
specific vocabulary. Whole
group lessons will focus on
informational texts about
European explorers and their
goals and destinations.
Students will be researching,
planning, and writing a
business proposal based on
scarcity and community
needs. They will be writing
an opinion piece with key
details that supports their
business idea.
Students will be exploring
formulas to solve for area and
perimeter of rectangles.
Students will also be dividing
2, 3 and 4 digit numbers by 1
digit numbers using arrays
and place value models.
They will be analyzing the
idea of remainders and using
mathematical vocabulary
such as quotient, divisor and
dividend.

Dates:
December 14- chorus concert
Students will be able to use
primary sources to gather
factual information about the
origins, goals, and
destinations of European
explorers. They will learn
about the impact that
Christopher Columbus had.
Students will be learning
about different types of
pollutants and how they
impact the environment.
Students will also compare
how other natural factors,
including temperature, soil,
and precipitation, affect the
environment and human
activities.
