Dear 2nd Grade Parents,
The year is quickly coming to a close! Thanks for all your hard work and support
this year. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Reading: In reading, students are learning about the
characteristics of biographies. We are also currently in the
process of conducting our end of the year mClass testing in
reading. Upcoming lessons will see us exploring the
connection between historical events and scientific ideas.
We will also be working to determine the main idea in fiction
and non-fiction texts.
Books and Beyond: Be sure to help your child fill out at least 6
contracts so he/she can attend the party next month!
Math: In math, we are focusing on addition and
subtraction with 3-digit numbers. We are exploring composing
and decomposing numbers, as well as using multiple strategies
to solve addition and subtraction problems. During the final
month of the school year we will be focusing on geometry and
the properties of different shapes.

Look for flyers in your students take home folder regarding
materials and dates and time for this event.
