to begin Quarter 2

 Reading:
 Science: We are continuing to work with
Ecosystems. Students
have been studying
how living and nonliving things are classified and interact with
each other.
 Spelling: Students
 Social Studies: We
will study economics
weeks 1-4 focusing on
specialization of businesses. Weeks 5-9 we
will focus on European
explorers and their
reasons for exploring.
Students will start
off the quarter
focusing on plays
and poetry.
will have spelling
homework every
night except Fridays and will be
assessed every
two weeks.
Conference Information
 Teachers are currently scheduling conferences to share your
child’s progress during
the first nine weeks
of school.
 Conferences will be
held on Wednesday
Nov. 11 and Thursday,
Nov. 12
 Teachers have some
time available before
school to meet with
you if that is more
convenient.
 Please refer to the
communication from
your child’s teacher
for your scheduled
conference time.
 Writing: Students
will be writing a character sketch based
off a character from
a play.
 This quarter for their
inquiry writing project
students will be researching a business
that specializes as
either a Goods, Services, or Recreational
business and supporting why that business
best suits a particular
community based on
their needs.
