MUSIC RUBRIC for MATCHING PITCH SCORE *Assistance from teacher includes but is not limited to: • Singing the first pitch for the student • Humming the melodic line with the student • Having to instruct the student to sing at a higher or lower pitch • Reminding the student how to sit and/or stand when singing “4” or “O” or “P” “3” or “S” or “I” “2” or “N” “1” or “N” The student: • is able to match pitch on first try without any assistance* from the teacher • Uses correct sitting or standing posture The student: • May need two - three tries to match pitch • Needs a very minimal amount of assistance* from the teacher to match pitch • Requires one reminder to use the correct sitting or standing posture The student: • Required several tries to match pitch • Required assistance* from teacher The student: • Was unable to match pitch after several tries and assistance* from teacher was necessary MUSIC RUBRIC for: Playing Instruments SCORE “4” or “O” or “P” “3” or “S” or “I” “2” or “N” “1” or “N” *Assistance from teacher includes, but is not limited to: • Teacher having to correct playing position before or during performance • Teacher having to “guide”/assist students when to play at appropriate times The student will: • use correct playing technique unassisted • Play at appropriate time unassisted The student: • May need a reminder for correct playing technique • May play at inappropriate times (once or twice) but is able to find his/her way back unassisted The Student: • needed several reminders about playing technique • needs assistance* from teacher in order to play at the appropriate times The student: • Did not use the proper playing technique, after several tries and with assistance • Was unable to play at appropriate times, after several tries and with assistance
