First Grade’s Weekly Newsletter
Reading
Students will be using context clues to
figure out the meaning of words. We will
continue to ask and answer questions to
understand what we read.

We will not be dressing up for the

Writing
We will continue to write to give
information. We will add facts to our
writing as we try to include more
detailed sentences using conjunctions.
Math
Students will work on graphing. We will
collect, organize, display and interpret
data on pictographs and bar graphs.
Social Studies
We will learn about United States
symbols and the things we do as
Americans like saying the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Science
We will continue to discuss food
chains and how living things have
specific features and behaviors that
help them survive.
