Hunting in the Northeast Region

Set your sights on the
opportunities to hunt right
here in northeast Missouri!
To learn more about hunting
opportunities in Missouri,
visit the Missouri Department of Conservation’s
Web site at missouriconservation.org.
Northeast Missouri’s numerous public lands
range from rich bottomland forests along the
Mississippi River to scenic rolling hillsides.
Theses diverse habitats support an equally
diverse amount of wildlife–and hunting
opportunities.
Far too many to list, our popular game
animals include white-tailed deer, Eastern
wild turkey, bobwhite quail, rabbit, squirrel,
furbearers and waterfowl. During two of
the most popular hunting seasons, Missouri
hunters harvest about 200,000 deer and
60,000 turkeys annually.

HUNTING
in the Northeast Region
The Missouri Department of Conservation
offers hunter education for people who would
like to hunt but lack experience. Workshops
and clinics are plentiful throughout the
northeast area.
Our Outdoor Skills Program offers adults
and children the chance to learn hunting
skills from experts in a safe, pressure-free
environment.
The program also offers people with mobility
impairments access to hunting opportunities.
Please note: Seasons and hunting regulations are
specific to each region, so always review the published
information via our Web site (missouriconservation.
org/regs/) or written publications for the most up-todate information.
Information about hunting regulations, permits, and
seasons is at your fingertips. Hunting permits are
available for sale 24 hours a day, 365 days a year by
calling 1-800-392-4115.

1. Dove hunting opportunities vary from year to year. Hunters should check missouriconservation.org/regs for actively managed dove fields and area maps.
2. Waterfowl hunting opportunities on conservation areas, with the exception of Ted Shanks, depend on fall percipitation.
