Our students, faculty, and alumni are pushing the limits and literally changing the game forever. Coming to Campbell was easily one of the best decisions of my young life. The network it has helped me build in four years from internships at Deepdale, Atlantic and Frederica Golf Clubs have me leaving here fearless to graduate and excited to enter the professional world.” SEBASTIAN HUTMAN, PENNSYLVANIA WHY STUDY PGA GOLF MANAGEMENT AT CAMPBELL UNIVERSITY? Students considering the PGA Golf Management Program base their college decision on three main areas: •PEOPLE - The faculty, staff, and students of the program and the university. You’ll see yourself “fitting” into the student body at CU. •PROGRAM - The focus on the PGA education program and how we deliver 34 hours’ worth of golf-related credits, the sequence of the 16 months of required internship, and our dedication to developing our students as playing professionals. •FACILITIES - Newly renovated School of Business Building. 27-hole golf facility, Keith Hills GC, owned by the university. 32-acre practice facility with indoor hitting bays, putting studio, and club repair center. INTERNSHIPS Campbell provides students with in-house internship placement through the program’s Assistant Director. The process involves resumé writing and submission, interviewing, and site selection help. This professional experience helps prepare students for when they begin seeking a full time career. At Campbell, we recommend students use these internships to experience all areas in the golf industry—public, private, and resort facilities. Some of the internship locations include, but are not limited to: National Golf Links of America, Deepdale Golf Club, Oakmont Country Club, Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, Pinehurst Resort, TPC Sawgrass and Pebble Beach Golf Resort. INSTRUCTION Interested in teaching? Our program offers students the chance to go beyond the PGA’s requirements when it comes to the knowledge of the golf swing. PGA Tour Instructor, David Orr, serves as the program’s Director of Instruction. He brings with him the knowledge and experience of working with the PGA Tour’s best players directly into the classroom. Ryan Dailey also gives students the opportunity to develop their teaching skills through his “iGrow Junior Golf” development program. In addition to the classes offered at Campbell, many of our students take advantage of instructional schools to gain further knowledge and certification. Campbell has several graduates working as instructors with PGA Tour Players. “Working at Spyglass Hill has been the experience of a lifetime! Spyglass is located in Pebble Beach, California, the most picturesque location on Earth. The diversity makes Spyglass Hill an ideal place to intern. I’ve had to learn how to handle a full tee sheet of resort guests every day, while providing top-level services to the members. Spyglass Hill also has the Pebble Beach Golf Academy on site, and I have been given the opportunity to work with top 50 instructor, Laird Small. Thanks to the Campbell University PGA Golf Management Program, I have received such a position. Spyglass Hill has taught me that the golf industry has much to offer and hard work can get you anywhere you want to go.” DOUG EMMA, NEW JERSEY You’ll find graduates and interns of Campbell’s PGA Golf Management program working at “Top 100 Golf Courses” across the country.
