ONLINE ART BUSINESS, SPREADING
HAND-PAINTED HAPPINESS.
QUADRUPLED SALES AND DOUBLED
REVENUE IN ONE YEAR.
Sarah Roberson has taken her passion for art and mind for business and
turned it into a growing company. The Redheaded Camel, Sarah’s online
art business, has spread creative venture to 33 of the 50 states.
Kaylyn Clark used the sewing machine given to her by her grandmother
to sew pillows and quilts and sell them to fellow students. She reinvested
the profits and progressively bought an embroidery machine, a vinyl
cutting machine and a heat press. She has opened a store and hired
her sister to help run her store. Sales have quadrupled and revenue has
doubled in one year.
“There will always be an incredible need for well-educated
business people; business
is what fuels our world. My
business courses have already
been invaluable in my work
with The Redheaded Camel.
It’s been really fascinating to
learn from a textbook by day and put that knowledge to
work on the weekends in a real-life setting.”

Entrepreneurial Thinking
FREE MARKET
CAPITALISM
The Lundy Chair of the Philosophy of Business is
tasked with promoting the principles of free
enterprise, capitalism, individual liberty,
and the proper role of the government’s
involvement in the economy to our students
and our community. Endowed in 1975 by Burrows T. Lundy,
founder of the Lundy Packing Company in Clinton, NC, the
Lundy Chair is one of the first endowed chairs established
in the United States to promote a greater understanding of
free market capitalism. Today it is hailed as a forerunner of
the growing libertarian movement.
The Lundy Chair Professor develops and teaches
“Philosophy of Business,” a course required of all Business
School students, to ensure that all students understand
the fundamentals of capitalism and also serves as the
nexus linking students, Campbell University, and the local
community in pursuing civic entrepreneurial activities.
In the Philosophy of Business course students learn
the importance of ethical behavior in
business, with special emphasis on understanding
how profits earned through voluntary
exchange is a direct consequence of
improving the lives of others. In addition,
students learn about social entrepreneurship and
the heroic role of entrepreneurs in risking their own
capital to create value for society.

HARNETT COUNTY ECONOMIC
SYMPOSIUM
At Campbell Business, not only will you learn about the theories of business, but you will
also actively engage in the local community to develop viable solutions to real-world
business problems. For example, Campbell Business co-hosts an Economic Development
Panel to address opportunities and challenges for civic entrepreneurship development
in Harnett County. This event is organized by a team of faculty, staff, and students, giving
our students the chance to practice what they’re learning in the classroom, while learning
invaluable leadership skills.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUR FUTURE
Entry-level salary
for business
graduates is rising
dramatically - at
a faster rate than any
other field.
Graduates who majored in
business were most likely
to be employed
full-time year-round.
There are 3.3 million
job openings for
all levels of business
graduates thru 2018.
A 2015 survey by the
National Association of
Colleges and Employers
indicated that 68%
of companies
are looking for
business school
graduates.
Employers rank
critical thinking
and problem
solving as the most
valued skill in new hires.
“The Philosophy of Business course helped lay
an understanding of how free markets work
and why the U.S. structured its government
the way it did. It gave me a unique perspective
and better understanding than what students
in more traditional programs may learn. Also,
it has opened opportunities for me to discuss
and engage with students from different
universities on similar topics, something that I think is essential for true
understanding.”

SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY.
Come join our supportive community of students, faculty, staff and alumni and build lasting relationships that will make a
positive difference for you. Our rurally located University offers a rather ‘self- contained’ environment. The University provides
entertainment and activities for students on campus during the week and on weekends. We offer a variety of activities that
encourage students to connect and build strong bonds through shared experiences and common challenges. At Campbell
Business, we believe that the lessons you learn in our supportive environment will influence you throughout your life.
“Campbell Business values their students and, because of this, offers a wide variety of initiatives for us to take advantage
of. I had the opportunity of being a peer tutor in the Business School Tutoring Center last year. It was a very rewarding
experience. I was able to work one-on-one with students taking the same courses I had taken and help them understand
the material. I also have taken advantage of many of the seminars that the LFSB offers. The Business School emphasizes
professionalism, and that is something that sets the students at Campbell above the rest.”
