Dear Loiederman Students, Parents and Staff:
I am pleased to announce that the Montgomery County Public Schools’ Board of Education has
appointed Ms. Nicole Sosik, currently principal intern at Wheaton High School, as Loiederman
Middle School’s next principal. This appointment is effective July 1, 2012.
Ms. Sosik began her education career in Pennsylvania teaching special education and later in South
Carolina serving students with a range of special needs. In addition to her teaching responsibilities
she also served as a class sponsor, graduation coordinator and coach of basketball, tennis and
track and field teams. She joined Montgomery County Public Schools in 2004 as a teacher within
the Emotional Disabilities program at Richard Montgomery High School and continued at RMHS as
an administrator. Most recently, in her role as principal intern at Wheaton HS, she has inspired
many Loiederman alumni as they have continued their academic careers.
I have known Ms. Sosik for the past four years having first crossed paths in a course about
coaching teachers. She distinguished herself then among the group of administrators in the
course and has continued to impress me as an intelligent, passionate educator who holds the
highest expectations for students and for the adults that guide them. We have collaborated on a
number of projects over the years so it feels quite natural to hand over the keys to this amazing
school to such a skillful leader.
Ms. Sosik is thrilled to be coming to Loiederman. I know that you will join me in welcoming her
into our community. Over the summer, Ms. Sosik and I will have opportunities to work together to
ensure a smooth transition.
Again, I am very happy to welcome Ms. Nicole Sosik as Loiederman’s new principal. You are in very
good hands.
Sincerely,
Alison L. Serino
Principal
