Scholarship Audition Information

Thank you very much for your interest in music study at Campbell University. Did you know
that scholarship money is available for every music major! Scholarships can range for $1,000
to $3,500 per year based on an audition. Here is how to audition:
1. Apply to Campbell University and receive an admittance letter from the Admissions
Office.
2. Once you have been accepted, call me or email me personally, and we will arrange an
appointment for an individual audition. Auditions can be arranged on Mondays,
Wednesday and Fridays at 12:00 while Campbell classes are in session October,
November, January, February, March and April are the best months.
3. If you live too far away, we will consider a recording, but we prefer your audition in
person.
4. If you are a singer, choose two songs in contrasting style from standard repertoire. One
song in a foreign language is preferred, but not required. One song could also be from
musical theatre or a sacred song. Your choir director at school can give you good
guidance about what is appropriate. Bring your original music with you and we will
provide the accompanist.
5. If you are a pianist, organist or guitarist, choose two pieces of music from standard
repertoire. Your teacher at school or private music teacher can give you good guidance
about what is appropriate.
6. If you play a band or orchestral instrument, one solo from the Allstate solo list is fine.
Your band or orchestra director can give you good guidance about what is appropriate.
7. Once you audition, I will send a letter containing your scholarship information and
confirm your scholarship award.
8. Instrumentalists who play in the Football Band and Pep Band can qualify for an
additional $1,250 per year.
9. Voice majors who sing in the Campbell Voices can qualify for an additional $1,000 per
year.
We look forward to hearing from you. We appreciate your interest and anticipate to the
possibility of you studying music with us at Campbell.
